Congratulations to Dr. Dana Carlis, NCAS Alumnus, as he recently completed NOAA’s Leadership Competencies Development Program (LCDP) Class IX!

Dr. DaNa L. Carlis is a Research Meteorologist at the National Weather Service (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) in College Park, MD. DaNa has been at NCEP/EMC since 2007 and with NOAA since 2002.

The LCDP IX Graduation Ceremony was held on January 29, 2016 at NOAA’s Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.  This graduation class “LCDP IX” was named A Rising Tide, and had a total of 27 members.  According to the LCDP webpage, benefits of the program include:

“LCDP is a proven means of preparing NOAA’s most promising employees for effective leadership roles in the organization.”
“The LCDP curriculum is based on industry-wide leadership best practices & focuses on
how to lead well in dynamic and changing environments.”

The Keynote Speaker was the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and NOAA Administrator, Dr. Kathryn D. Sullivan.
