Directions:  The SDP consists of five sections: 1) Background Information, 2) Annual Planning Form, 3) Mid-Year Progress Report, 4) Year-End Progress Report, and 5) Summer Progress Report.

  • The Background Information section should be completed by the students at the start of the academic year (either August/September for the fall semester or January for the spring semester) to gather background and contact information for students.
  • The Annual Planning Form should be completed by the student, advisor, and NOAA mentor at the start of the academic year (either August/September for the fall semester or January for the spring semester) to plan student education and research activities for the upcoming year.   • The Mid-Year Progress Report should be completed by the student and approved by the advisor and NOAA mentor at mid-year (either December/January for fall semester entrants or May for spring semester entrants). This form should document accomplishments, challenges, revisions, and needs by the mid-year (or during the fall semester). Click here for Progress Report Form
  • The Year-End Progress Report should be completed by the student and approved by the advisor at the end of the academic year in May. This form should document accomplishments, challenges, revisions, and needs by the year end (during the spring semester). Click here for Progress Report Form
