Kudos to the NCAS Fellows, Faculty, and Staff!  On Monday, October 19, the first NCAS Research Day at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction displayed a sample of the current research projects and collaborations with the National Weather Service, NESDIS, and OAR.  The informal program included poster presentations representative of all six institutions that comprise NCAS:  Howard University, Jackson State University, University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, University of Texas at El Paso, State University of NY at Albany, and the University of Maryland, College Park.

During the overview of NCAS activities, the audience heard from Dr. Vernon Morris, Director, and various NCAS Alumni, all of whom are currently employed within the NOAA workforce.  Additionally, NOAA Researchers and Contractors attended the event, and learned more about the areas of research the Center produces in the geosciences field.

NCAS continues to partner with federal agencies and higher education institutions, in order to train and develop Fellows in atmospheric sciences, and advance research in the field.
